Product details
- SKU EXTR-SOLID-500-x-x-x
An aluminium T-slot machine bed profile, 20 × 40 mm, designed and extruded by us in New Zealand. This is the updated Mk2 version of our solid-section machine bed — a rigid, adaptable base for CNC routers, engravers, 3D printers, jigs and work holding.
What's new in the Mk2
- The main slot now fits our T-slot nut plates and takes roll-in T-nuts better.
- Drill grooves have been adjusted so you're less likely to break through into the main slot when drilling.
Solid section
This is a solid profile (not hollow), so it stays rigid under clamping loads and can be drilled and tapped where you need it.
Compatible with both our hardware series
One face takes our 40 series spring nuts, nut plates, T-bolts and work clamps; the other face and sides take our 20 series hardware.
Typical uses
- CNC router, engraver and laser machine beds
- 3D printer frames and beds
- Fixture plates and tooling plates
- Work holding, clamping and jigs
Mill finish (raw)
Supplied in a mill finish rather than anodised, so you can mill the top surface perfectly flat once mounted — and it keeps the cost down. Occasional perpendicular lines, blemishes and scuff marks are random and part of how we keep the price low.
Cut to your length
Choose a stock length above, or select Custom Cut Length and enter the length and quantity you need.
- Lengths 100–3000 mm: cut to +/- 0.5 mm
- Other lengths: cut to +/- 1 mm
- Every piece of a given length is cut identically, clean and square
(For custom cut lengths, the correct total — a cutting charge plus the extrusion cost — only shows once you reach checkout, not in the cart.)
Cutting it yourself
Aluminium extrusion cuts cleanly with a standard drop saw or mitre saw. Use a sharp, fine-tooth blade and a little light oil, CRC or kerosene for a clean cut.
